![[HERO] The Road Ahead: Our Adventures are Coming Soon!](https://cdn.marblism.com/a4DbAOKai0H.webp)
Introduction
Welcome to the digital home of our travel-obsessed lives! If you’ve stumbled across this page, you’re officially ahead of the curve. I’m Johnny, often known as “Johnny The Hat,” and standing right next to me is my beautiful wife, Janet. We’ve spent years exploring the corners of the map, snapping photos until our memory cards scream for mercy, and telling stories that usually start with, “You won’t believe what happened when we got lost in…”
For a long time, these stories stayed in our private photo albums or were shared over a pint with friends. But as we look at the calendar for 2026, we realized it was time to build a proper home for our memories. Don’t Forget Your Camera isn’t just a catchy name; it’s the mantra I live by (usually shouted by Janet as I’m halfway out the door without my gear).
We are so excited to announce that our full-blown travel adventures will be landing right here very soon. We’re talking about the highs, the lows, the missed trains, the perfect sunsets, and every single pink outfit Janet manages to squeeze into her suitcase.
Story: Who are the People Behind the Lens?
Before we dive into the dusty trails of Morocco or the turquoise waters of Greece, we should probably introduce ourselves properly.
I’m Johnny. You’ll recognize me easily in any photo: I’m the one wearing the Australian bush hat. And before you ask, no, it doesn’t have the dangling corks. I’m a traveler, not a walking fly-swatter! I’ve usually got my sunglasses on (or my regular glasses if we’re squinting at a map), a short goatee that Janet tolerates, and a backpack that probably weighs more than a small child. That backpack is essentially a mobile command center for my camera gear because, as the site name suggests, I never go anywhere without it.
Then there’s Janet. She’s the real star of the show. With her long blonde hair and a wardrobe that consists almost entirely of various shades of pink, she’s the one who brings the color to our photos. While I’m obsessing over aperture settings and shutter speeds, Janet is the one making sure we actually enjoy the moment. She has an uncanny ability to find the best local cafes and the most beautiful views, often while I’m still fiddling with a tripod.

We’ve been traveling together for a long time, and we’ve learned that the best adventures aren’t just about the destination: they’re about the person you’re arguing with over the map. We’ve found that a bit of humor, a sturdy pair of shoes, and a charged battery can get you through just about anything.
The 2026 Roadmap: Where We’re Heading
So, what can you expect from us in the coming months? We aren’t just sitting around polishing lenses. We have a packed schedule for the rest of 2026 that we can’t wait to share with you.
We’re kicking things off this spring with a trip to Morocco. I can already visualize the contrast of the orange desert sands against Janet’s favorite pink travel jacket. From the bustling markets of Marrakech to the quiet nights under the stars, we’ll be documenting the whole thing. Shortly after, in May, we’re heading to Greece to see if the white buildings of Santorini really are as bright as they look in the brochures.
Later in the summer, we’re planning some active adventures. We’ve been looking at e-biking through “Little Tuscany” in Slovenia and maybe even doing some forest walks in Finland’s Golden Triangle. I’m particularly keen on the best-small-towns-to-visit-in-germany as we make our way across Europe.

As the year winds down, we’re eyeing some bigger hops: Australia (time to take the hat back to its spiritual home!) and perhaps a stop in Portugal or Napa Valley. Every step of the way, we’ll be posting updates here. We’ll be sharing 5-best-travel-tips for those of you looking to plan your own escapes, as well as more specific advice like 10-tips-for-the-perfect-road-trip.
More Than Just Pretty Pictures
While I love a good landscape shot, this blog is going to be about more than just the “Instagrammable” moments. We want to tell the real stories. We want to tell you about the time our car broke down in the middle of nowhere, or the time we found the world’s best gelato by accidentally taking a wrong turn.
Janet is the storyteller of the family. She remembers the smells of the street food and the way the air felt, while I remember the technical details of how I captured the light. Together, we hope to give you a full picture of what it’s like to see the world as a couple who just can’t sit still.
We’ll also be diving into some of our past favorites, like our America trip ideas and our experiences seeing wild horses. Whether we’re discussing the the best time to go to Cappadocia or learning how to surf a wave in one day, we promise to keep it simple, honest, and hopefully a little bit funny.

Why “Don’t Forget Your Camera”?
You might wonder why we lean so heavily on the photography side of things. In a world where everyone has a smartphone, why carry the heavy bag? For me, it’s about the intention. When I have my camera in my hand, I look at the world differently. I look for the details: the way the light hits Janet’s hair, the texture of an old stone wall, or the symmetry of a mountain range.
Photography forces us to slow down and really see where we are. And Janet, bless her, is the most patient “model” in the world. She knows that if we see a sunset, we’re probably going to be standing there for at least twenty minutes while I “just take one more.”
This blog is our way of making sure those moments don’t just sit on a hard drive gathering digital dust. We want you to feel like you’re right there with us, perhaps standing just off-camera, wondering when we’re finally going to go get dinner.

Conclusion
The road ahead is long, winding, and full of places we haven’t seen yet. We’re currently in the “calm before the storm,” packing our bags, checking our passports, and making sure the “Don’t Forget Your Camera” headquarters is ready for all the content we’re about to dump here.
We hope you’ll join us. Whether you’re a fellow traveler looking for tips, a photography enthusiast, or just someone who enjoys seeing what Johnny The Hat and Janet are up to, there’s a place for you here. We’re building this community for anyone who believes that the world is too big to stay in one place and too beautiful to leave the camera at home.
Stay tuned, because the first “real” adventure post is coming sooner than you think!
